About Us...

     L. Petersen Farms is owned and operated by Lloyd Petersen and son, Lee Petersen. Lloyd's history of custom harvesting dates back to 1968 when Lloyd and his brother Cliff headed south with two 95 John Deere combines for the first time. Lloyd soon decided to put more of his interest into cattle and farming while Cliff harvested until 2006. Lloyd and Lee began doing custom harvesting in Canada in the late 1980's. An opportunity arose for Lee to expand the operation to the U.S. in 1998 and did so by taking his bride on a honeymoon with 3 9600 combines!

Our harvest operation continues to grow! Lee takes his wife Dana as well as children Tyson,  Tilynn, and Rhett on the harvest run as well.

Our machinery consists of 5 combines both conventional and rotary, 36 foot MacDon headers, pickup headers, as well as flexheads and corn heads as required. Grain hauling includes a tractor and cart as well as semi units.

We leave the end of May for southern Oklahoma and work our way north into Canada by the first part of September. The wheat harvest advances quite quickly northward with usually no more than 10 working days spent in a specific area, but it all depends on weather! We usually head south again for fall harvest.
